Switzerland has endorsed the BJD. This was announced in conjunction with the launch ceremonies in Geneva, January 2000.

Update April 2001

On November 6, 2002, the Swiss League against Rheumatism organized the conference "Sport and Arthrose" dedicated to the sport instructors in the French part of Switzerland. The conference was held at the auditorium of the very attractive Olympic Museum in Lausanne. Well-known medicine and sports specialists of the French speaking part of Switzerland, two famous Swiss sportsmen (tennis and soccer) as well as the moderator J. Deschenaux, known from the (French) Swiss TV, made the conference a big success.

Within the Bone and Joint Decade, the above mentioned conference was the second event of its kind organized by the Swiss League against Rheumatism. The first conference was held on October 17, 2001, in Basel (German part of Switzerland). Due to the big success of both conferences, the Swiss League against Rheumatism considers to organize the conference in other parts of the country as well.
