Dr Thami Benzakour

Activities

During the national orthopaedic meeting held in Rabat April 2002, there was a gathering of representatives from North Africa, including representatives from Mauritania, Algeria, Libya, and Morocco.

A status of the situation in the region will be worked on concerning the following problems: osteoporosis, low back pain, traffic accidents as well as arthrosis. It is hoped that such a study can help to settle that kind of coordinated action.

A second meeting on the subject was held in June 2002 in Tunisia with national coordinators from Tunisia, Morocco, and Libya. Two more orthopaedic surgeons were expected to be confirmed as coordinators in Algeria (Prof. Laid Benazzouz and Dr Ould Ersnon Md Lamine).
